Description: The Home User uses a Browser-Based Platform (set-top box, web phone, touch screen laptop or thin client, desk-top computer, web videophone, or other), and an Audio/Video Communications Device, to gain access to an IP Network. The Wired, (serial-port based) and/or Wireless (blue-tooth, WI-FI) Medical Devices are connected either directly to the Browser-Based Platform or to our TeleMedicine Terminal. Both the Browser-Based Platform and the Terminal transmit and store the data on a centralized web & data base server GenCare over most types of Network Connections (dial-up or broadband). The Browser-Based Platform provides the home user with graphs and charts of their vitals, including medical reminders, email, instant messenger and educational content.
A Home Care Specialist who visits the Home User can take additional medical tests (EKG, Spirometry, etc.) with the results seamlessly stored in the Home Users electronic medical record (EMR).
One or more Remote Medical Specialists can see which Home Users are on-line allowing for the real-time supervision, and consultation of medical tests or the review of stored data. Thresholds can be configured to warn the Remote Medical Specialists by email, phone call, or page in case of any critical vital-sign levels. Remote Medical Specialists have 24/7 access to up-to the second medical
information at any time. All data is made available to both the Home User and Remote Care Specialists through a secure 128 bit encrypted browser. A standards-based architecture allows additional layers of security and functionality to be seamlessly supported.
